What was everyones pre-op process? I was approved 2 years ago and didn't go because my insurance ran out, then I had to see a therapist and do multiple appoints with my pc doc. This time I was put on meds for a month(I have a week left) and after the meds I go for a meeting with the surgeons.

I'm just trying to get a basic idea of what I'm up against before I get my date.

Depends on the Surgeon and his team, but some of here have a pre-op diet of liquids for 14days.. Mine was 7days. It really varies, some get to have 1 small meal and some just protein drinks and soups etc. It's hard.. but it gets easier! I have blue cross blue shield and I was approved pretty quickly. Some have a 6month pre op diet to go by, I luckily didn't have to do that. Read these forums!! Sooo much information, it helped me a lot pre op and Post op. Just had mine done this past monday. Just remember how worth it, it is going to be.. People here are very inspiring!! :) Good Luck!!

Thanks, you're lucky you didn't have to do 6 months! My PCDoc is trying to push this along faster since its my second time having Tricare approve me for it. After this next week and my follow up appointment he's trying to get me to do the 5hr class-required by surgeons not the insurance- then start scheduling right after. I'm a little concerned because my husband(active duty army) will not be here during the time my PCDoc is trying to shoot for. I'm not scared of the surgery, I'm scared of doing it all on my own for a month with a dog that's all about mommy cuddle time :/

Everyone on here is so helpful and supportive, its like having a huge distant family that's always there!
