Post Op Care

I am single and live alone. I will be banded in December. My doctor does it on an outpatient basis, and I live 2 hours from his office. What was your experience with needing someone to help you in the hours and days following surgery? I'm sure I'll need someone to drive me home afterwards, but do I need to plan on having someone spend a night with me? More than one night? Am I likely to need physical support (lifting things, etc) or emotional support (pain management, meal prep, etc.)?

I stayed 1 night in the hospital and had my dad drive me home the next day. I live alone and I was fine. It was a little hard getting in/out if bed, but overall I was fine and didn't need help. Good luck!

My surgeon required I have someone stay for 24hrs to watch for complications, after that I was on my own. My husband works out of state.
