I had my surgery on Friday the 28th. I know it's only been a few days but I'm uncomfortable each time I drink something. I feel so full and can't seem to figure out how much to drink. I'm supposed to drink 64 ozs. a day but I can't get that much down. I am drinking broth and juices. Can someone tell me what is normal. I had the iband..

64 oz. seems like a lot. I was told 24 oz. but I guess each doctor is different.... try your best... it will get better.

I would just sip all day and do what you can. You are in major healing mode right now and once the internal swelling goes down, probably a week to 10 days, you will be able to get more in. Don't obsess about protein, food etc right now, just keep sipping. (I would add a stool softener to the mix, if you are still on medication, you want to make sure that, that doesn't become a problem.)

I used Collace as stool softener... very mild but it works.

Thank you for the advice. I will purchase the Collace because I believe it's needed. I'll just continue to do what I'm doing. Thanks again.

My nurse said i will be usung small medicine cups to sip my water a little at a time. Maybe it would help to not feel like you have to get a big glass down like a mental thing?? Just a thought
