Anxiety Attacks Post Surgery

Hi everyone! I was banded in May 2012. Weight loss has been slow but hoping to jump start it once I'm restricted a bit more (currently 2.75 cc).. Anywho since May I've been getting these really weird moments 1-2x per month of 30 sec panic attacks.. It starts out as a weird feeling of déjà vu and my body goes completely numb then I'm fine within 1-2 minutes. Granted my job can be stressful but I've been working there for almost 2 yrs and have only had these panic attacks since the surgery. I'm not sure if the panic attacks are a result of residual long term stress or maybe something I'm doing or not doing with diet etc... Has anyone ever experienced such a thing???? PS..I am going to the md nxt wk to discuss..

Hi there, sorry to hear what you're going through. I'd say if you've had long term stress it's catching up to you in the form of pannick attacks and may just be coincidental that its happening at the time you've been banded. Are you also stressing over the band? If so that's just adding to your stress levels. I'm glad you're seeing your doctor about this and he/ she will help sort it out. One thing I can say though stress isn't good for your band, I find when I get days of stress I get really tight and can hardly eat anything till my stress settles down. My doctor also told me she won't give a fill if you are suffering from constant stress because of how it affects the band.

Hopefully your doc can help you out and you it sorted it out quickly.

Keep us posted!
