Lap band has been something I've been looking into for some time. I spoke with my bariatric doctor today who said getting approved wouldn't be an issue.. My BMI is 38.6 can someone give me a ball park range of how long the process is?

It really depends on what your insurance requires. I asked them to fax me all the info they required myself and my dr to do. I made it into a check list and stayed right on top of it with my Dr office. Do the same...that way NOTHING is missed.

I know even within different insurance companies depending on the specific plan they can have different requirements. It's really very hard to generalize on this. i say just go to an office who has their act together on the process. I've been really frustrated at times because it seems like so much to do, but I was approved on the first try and I know it's because the office I have gone through has their act together on the requirements and how to get things done.
