What's Wrong With Me

hi everyone, i just dont understand how it is that i can still be able to eat whatever when alot of others can't, i had lapband w/ plication on 7-25-11, i have 6.25cc in my band, i am still able to eat bread (i only eat it occasionally), salads, and chicken with no problems, i have some friends who are having trouble keeping anything down with less cc's in their band, is there something wrong with me, should i be having trouble with these things, i would love to hear some feedback, thanks

No, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. The band is not supposed to restrict what types of food you eat. In fact it's not supposed to restrict your food intake at all. Some people do have is

  • There is nothing the matter with you that you can continue to eat foods without negative consequences. Each of us are individuals, and as such some will have difficulties tolerating questionable foods

  • The lapband is designed to keep you full not restrict what you can eat. If you can eat 1 cup of food and not feel hungry for 3-4 hours after eating, then its doing its job.

I think everyone's band us different in the way they feel, with specific foods and feeling of fullness. You may just need another adjustment. I've seen people in this forum that don't even have an adjustment and lose as well as feel full. We are all so different:)

I agree everyone is different. I don't eat bread anymore as I know it is wasted calories and I'd rather eat something that is going to benefit me and give me what I need to stay full longer. This whole journey has been hard but well worth it. I hope you continue to do well in your journey.

The biggest problem I have with bread is that its dry. I can tolerate crackers but sandwiches and cake are a no go.

My situation is the opposite. I can eat most dry breads like toast and crackers but moist bread gums up and gets stuck (Croissants, breadsticks ect). Best of luck!
