Breads

I've heard people mention they can't eat bread after banding. Is this all breads or can you have like leftsa, flat bread, tortillas etc. Just kind of curious.

I have issues with soft bread, things that carb count wise I try not to eat anyway. I am able to eat tortillas with little to no problems (I use Mission brand low carb tortillas).

Hi

I've been banded 6 years.

The only things I don't eat are rice and apples...and carbonated beverages.

Rice and apples skins just feel strange going down so I avoid them. I've never been sick or choked with band.

Try not to compare yourself with others. Don't go into this journey saying... I'll never be able to eat this or that ever again.

Take tiny bites and make sure you finish what you have in your mouth before you take your second bite.

I think a lot of new bandsters go into journey and think they will fail because they can no longer have their favourite foods. I love the band because I can still have my favourite foods (in moderation) and I don't feel like I missing out.

The band is wonderful life long "tool" If you listen to your doctor and follow the menu plan guidelines the best you can and keep a food journal. The band can change your life.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

I could eat bread until my fourth fill. Now for me, bread is the devil. I try to deny it, but it comes back to bite me every time.

I think it's different for everyone. I have heard though that the flat sandwich bread and tortillas are less problematic. I've successfully had a tortilla before my second fill and it was aye-okay, but generally I've sworn off all empty carbs (breads, crackers, etc).

The breads, pastas (carbs) I do eat I try to make good choices like whole wheat Pasta. I also a love pita bread and thin bagels.
