Mind Set Change Or Dr Did Something With Taste Buds...lol

Recommended Posts

ok, so yesterday I was 4 weeks post op and I recently had pizza, now pizza was ONE of my favs to eat before my band and believe you me, I could put away some pizza but that day eating with my mom I only ate 1 1/2 pc and not all of the crust and it just didn't taste as good as I wanted it to. Probably will not eat it for a while as I don't want the fat and calories. I think my doctor changed my taste buds...lol, all I've been eating is healthy foods, which is good, don't get me wrong but the thought of going back to eating like I was, well, is disgusting now. Hope this mind set stays!

Theres several foods which strangely disgust me now much as i want to like them. And weirdest of all, they tasted GREAT while i was unfilled for. Couple of months, and instantly became revolting again when i had restriction back. pizza, bread, and sort of melting, cooked cheese, chinese food ugh. Even the smell makes m gag.

I think once you're past the withdrawals and have been eating healthy for awhile, your tastes do change. I know mine have. I mean, if someone told me 6 months ago I'd be craving salads this summer I'd have laughed at them. But, it's true, I am on a total salad kick and could eat it every single day easily.

Same with cucumbers. I don't want potato chips, I want sliced cucumber with a little sprinkle of salt.

It's very odd but I'm definitely not complaining :)

That is one of the nice side effect of getting banded :) It sure helps with some of the head hunger.

Just go with it ............

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
