Leg Cramps!

Second night in a row I am up at 3-ish in the morning with leg cramps.

This happened before when I was on the Atkins diet.

Anyone else? Any tips?

I take liquid vitamins and eat half a banana a day for extra potassium, I am certain I am not getting as much sodium that I need because I am craving salty food.

  • Drink lots of water. Not being hydrated enough will cause them. The atkins diet will do that because of the high protein.

Ok I know this is an uncommon treatment, but serisouly...drink half a cup of pickle juice. Yes as in pickles in a jar. Trust me it works.

Also, yes, Highland, I thought I might be dehydrated because my tongue was kinda fuzzy. I'll drink water and pickle juice today. I'll have great breath hee hee!

Awesome! There are many professional atheletes that swear by it. I tried it myself when I started working out. It really does work and yes it is absolutely delicious!

I mentioned my leg cramps to my nurse friend at my surgeon's office and now I'm off to the Imaging Center for an ultrasound. I guess post surgery leg cramps could be a sign of a blood clot. I'm sure it's not. I just need some Vlasic juice and agua. I'm on my way so will let ya'll know what they say later.

Oh yes! Please keep us updated. *sends positive vibes*

I just got home from the imaging center. On the way home my doctor called me and said there are no blood clots in my legs!

Yay!

She said to drink lots of water and take the prescription narcotic again before bed.

Now I'm exhausted from just that little trip but later am going to get my pickle juice.

Thanks all!!!!!!!

That's great news Jen! Enjoy the pickle juice cocktail! ;-)
