I'm 15 day post op and it does go down but I still think mine is not fully normal (some swelling or fluids still there) but close. At 5 days for sure not. Maybe at 8,9,10 days seem to be less distended. I had allot of gurgling/gas when I ate unil around 7 days. I was surprised it didn't last longer. Give it a few more days. Good luck

...when i was post op right up until about six weeks post op i had a distended stomach. its more to do with the fact that youve had surgery on the abdo than anything i think. i noticed this week that my stomach has flattened out heaps . i was operated on 22nd march.
