Newly Banded

I had my band placed on may 2. Things went well but im still trying to get rid of the excess gas. I've been walking and even took some milk of mag. Also I noticed that the majority of my pain is on my left side. It feels like a really sore muscle type pain. Has anyone else had that.

yes, I had that, in fact it's very common.

Here's the thing about that type of gas pain. It's not in your digestive system, it's in your abdominal cavity. If you're having digestive gas things such as Gas X will help, but it won't help this particular pain because products like this only help gas in the stomach and bowels.

Your body has to reabsorb the gas, it can't be "passed" out. (again, because it's not in the digestive system). Unfortunately movement and walking is the only thing we can do to help that process along.

Many do find that heating pads help ease the pain. I'd give it a try.

HI i also was banded May 2, I feel very distended with gas, my pain is also on my left side also where i am sorest at. Today i start on creamy liquids but having trouble even feeling like i want to eat or drink anything.

I know exactly hoe you feel. This gas pain is horrible, let alone that left sided pain. I too don't feel like eating/drinking much. My hubby got me Gatorade today to sip on so I don't become dehydrated. Had 1/2 cup of tomato soup for lunch and will have the same for dinner.
