Here is the list that I composed before I had my surgery. If you want a printable copy inbox me your email address.

Hope this helps.

General Items to Have on Hand

Digital scale

Blender (consider the ones that you can blend using a travel mug) I bought this one at Walmart for $79 http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=0&ic=48_0&Find.x=0&Find.y=0&Find=Find&_ta=1&search_query=ninja%20kitchen%20system%20pulse&_tt=ninja

Peewee Pillow pet-to hold against your stomach when you cough

Chewable Calcium

Chewable Daily Vitamin

Gas X

liquid Tylenol

Benefiber (I mix this with the kellog’s Protein mix below)

Metamucil Clean and Clear

Milk of Magnesia (MOM)-to help with constipation

Papaya Enzymes- to help later when if you were to experience a “stuck” episode

Stage 1 Clear liquids

Protein Power: This is just going to be trial an error. Looks like the most popular are (Unjury, Jay Robin, Premiere, NewWhey

Canned chicken broth (the night before your surgery, consider simmering it with some veggies like carrots, onions, potatoes, even some of your favorite herbs. I would leave all the veggies in the broth until the next day. Then have someone strain them off, saving the broth for you)

Favorite Soups Consider lower salt versions(use the larger size cans of Soup if they make them in your band. Then mix a couple of cans of chicken or beef broth with your favorite Soup. simmer and strain)

SF Jello (both premade for convenience and boxed for when you feel like making it)

SF Popsicles

Pedialyte Popsicles

Kellogs Water ready Protein mix (link below)

SF pudding (premixed for convenience and boxed for later)

Yogurt (thinned out) (light or Greek) blend well

Baby Foods (add a jar of baby food fruit with your Protein powder and thin with water or skim milk)

Stage 2-Puree

If you get a Ninja, go to Target. They have the 700 watt Ninja pulse on sale for the same price right now and it comes with three blender cups. I had originally purchased the Walmart 550 watt one too, and just happened to be in Target near the blenders right afterwards :)

Also, make sure to get Protein drinks with enough Protein. If you're doing Slimfast, get the low-carb kind. I personally recommend the Premier Nutrition chocolate pre-made shakes- they have 30g protein, low carb, low fat, 160 calories. I found if I got 80g+ protein per day I was not starving.

Good Luck with your shopping. I found it kind of fun. I am surprised I am not focused on what I cant have. Having fun stocking my kitchen. I did a similar shopping list just based on my information books, nutrition classes, word of mouth etc. so I can be fully prepared. Preparation is key. I am saving a few things for other people who want to help can buy like Jello, pudding, SF pops etc.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
