Pre Op Diet, Stomach Bug

Hi Everyone!

My surgery is scheduled for March 26th. On Monday I started my 2 week liquid only pre op diet. Tuesday I woke up with the stomach bug and was unable to keep anything down. This morning/afternoon I am still very nauseous. I have been unable to drink the shakes, I have been drinking Water. My mother brought me a baked potato to help the nausea go away. Is this going to mess anything up?

Potato to help with nausea?

I would stick with chicken noodle soup or dry toast or ginger.

Honestly, being so sick it probably won't hurt anything.

If you're not eating many calories probably not. The idea of the preop diet however is to greatly reduce carbs however and potato is all carbs. I would take something to help you upset stomach.
