Why would you go through getting the surgery then try to get pregnant right away? That defeates the purpose and you could do more harm then good since the first 8 weeks is based on healing and recover

Thank you lollicat. Unfortunately words can be "heard" in a different tone on the Internet. I do wish you the best with both your lapband and TTC journey but right now you need to focus on YOU and get

Hi. I am new to this site. I desperately want to have a second baby but am 133kg (was up to 145kg I think) but struggling with weight loss. I am taking zanical. I had complications with my first pregnancy. Emergency ceasar at 34 weeks as fetus was in severe distress and small for term. He spent 3 weeks in ICU and he was very hard work for first 3-6 months due to prematurity issues. I think work stress may have contributed but no way to know 100%. I Was 117kg when I fell pregnant with him so my thinking is I need to get down to at least that before I start trying to conceive this time around. Have added pressure from hubby as he wants kids close in age (my son is now 3) and I am 33 and don't want to delay trying for too much longer in case I have fertility problems (have very irregular periods and still think first pregnancy was a fluke). I am considering lap band surgery but don't want to wait a whole year before trying to fall pregnant. I understand that the first three months or so would be a no so I could heal from surgery and my thinking is if I fall pregnant soon after that and weight loss too rapid I could get volume decreased? What are your thoughts. Anyone fell pregnant in under a year post op? Thanks.

My doctor wants patients to wait a year before ttc.
