Hello Everyone. I had my surgery September 20, 2011. I started at 265lbs and currently weigh 242lbs. I had my post op check up with my doctor on October 5th. I am scheduled to have my first fill in early November. I guess that my real question is why my appt is so far out? Is it because I am currently losing weight steadily with no fill?

I received fill #1 six weeks after surgery. My surgeon did not add Fluid at the time of placement and wanted a good 6 weeks for healing and swelling to go down.

Thank you HeatherMarie! My surgeon didn't add any fluid initially either. The good thing is that I still feel full on my current diet.

My first fill was 6.5 weeks after surgery. It's to give your stomach ample time to heal from the surgery.

Surgery was 9/22. 1st fill scheduled for 10/31 however at this point I will not be getting one. I can still only eat between 1/4 to 1/2 c of food at one sitting and it keeps me full for several hours.

My first fill was Monday... 10 weeks after surgery. I was loosing consistently and like you, I felt pretty decent restriction with just the band... But the last three weeks my weight loss has stalled and I was beginning to get hungry in between meals so it was time for a fill.
