Help--I need info.

I am brand new here. I'm being banded tomorrow in Houston by Dr. Spivak. My instructions are to stay on liquids for 48 hours and then move on to very soft food. From everything I'm reading on this site, it sounds like I should stay on liquids longer than 48 hours. What does everyone suggest? I really want to be successful and have as few complications as possible. What liquids are the best? Is soup ok? What about applesauce? I have so many questions. I'd love any advice.:help:

Thank you,

AngieO

What kind of blended foods do you think you should've eaten? Do you think you should've started blended foods earlier than 2 weeks post-op?

Dr. Spivak did my banding and I followed his directions and had no problems. Your body will let you know if you are ready for mushies after the initial 48 hours.

I did fine following Dr. Spivak's instructions. I lived off of sugar free pudding, Applesauce and Sugar Free Fudge Pops!

There are a few of us on here that used Dr. Spivak so I am sure you will be fine.

First: do what your Dr. tells you to do. I was only on liquids for 48 hrs. too. I was only on soft foods for the next 5 or 6 days after that. I must have called my nutritionist 6 times in the first 3 weeks! You'll be fine. Stop eating if it hurts. Concentrate on how you feel!

Both of you make me feel better about being on liquids for only 48 hours. I'm ready to start on this journey. I know it won't be easy, but I'm very excited. Thank you,

AngieO
