Hi - I am a newbie... just received my surgery date. Have concerns that insurance will deny me... Nervous regarding failure (after a lifetime of failed attempts at weight loss). Please share your experiences with me.

Hi! I was just banded on 8/17! My primary insurance denied me due to the contractual obligations with my employer. I have a secondary insurance through my husband that luckily approved me. If your insurance does deny you, you can always submit a grievance, how long that will take, I am not sure.

I was more nervous about the liquid diet leading up to the surgery than the surgery it's self! When I was in the pre op room, that's when the nerves really started and I realized~ This is going to happen! I am still in a little pain, but just remember to walk and sip, the sooner the better! Also, take advantage of your pain meds. These were prescribed for a reason
