Max fill but no restriction

:( I was banded in March of 2007 and lost 125 pounds but since then I have had 3 fills and the doctor says I am at max fill about 18 months ago. I have almost no restriction even after the fills and have gained back about 40 pounds. Any advice? should i unfill completely then refill? The doctor says I may have too large a band and need a revision which i'd like to avoid. Thanks in advance for your responses

You were at max fill 18 months ago? You should see a doctor and check your fill atleast 2 times a year. The band will slowly lose some fill over time so 14cc ( if thats ur band size) might be 12cc or lower 18 months later.

Also maybe you should go for a fill but have the doc change the saline so take it all out and then put it back in ( my doc does that with each fill). This is a good way to check the colour of the saline and how much saline is left in the band.

Maybe if you're not feeling restriction it's time to get an endoscope to rule out erosion and to make sure that you do have a healthy stomach.

I just got a fill Monday. I am at 3.4 cc and the max my band can hold is 4cc. I want to go back for another fill because i'm in the same boat but I am worried that he won't do it. Good luck and keep us updated on what's going on. You're not alone.
