Vitamins

Hi all,

I'm trying to find the right Vitamin for me and am having trouble. Mainly, Vitamins make me feel sick within minutes of taking them. The only one that doesn't cause that is the Centrum kind. I also can't stand gummy vitamins because they leave my mouth ferociously dry. Oh yeah - I hate chewable vitamins because they are grainy.

I'm a very "texture" sensitive person dry.gif

Question for you all:

What has worked for you? I prefer taking non-chewable vitamins. Do you think that'll be an issue with my lap band? Anyone else go through this? If you have, did any chewable vitamin work???

Finally - anyone try the "Opurity" brand of vitamins from the unjury website?

Thanks!!

I have tried everything - liquid, chews etc. I don't east gummy Vitamins because I am vegetarian and they have Gelatin in them but I see lots of people here use them.

I use Centrum Chewables. I can't do it on an empty stomach but can tolerate it just fine after a few sips of coffee. I tried that Celebrate bariatric ones but they turned to powder too fast while still in my mouth and that made them torture.

Good luck. Does your surgeon have any samples for you to try?

I am always super cautious about swallowing pills but I do take a protonix which is pretty small. I chew a flintstones every day and it tastes ok but not great. Most vitamin pills are so big...I wonder if you could crush the centrum and just wash it down with water...

Try a normal size daily vitamin pill or snap it in half (they're safe to break in half) and take it like normal. You shouldn't have any issues. No need to use chewables or anything else. If it gets stuck, just drink some hot tea and it will dissolve it faster.
