Choose a better ins plan for the whole year from my work. We usually have Bcbs but have higher deduct options to pick from so...hopefully I can get one for my out of pocket expenses to be less. Right now I would have to pay a minimum of $6,000. I do not have it. I am hoping for better things after Sept. My question is: How long did it take you to get banded from the first consult visit. I am just curious. I know everyone is different, especially with different insurance plans, but I just wanted to get an idea of what to expect. Thank you for your replies, in advance. I had my consult visit May 24th and surgery is tomorrow - June 27th! I am a self pay. My employer has WLS excluded from our policy. =(

Highland, I hope you have a great surgery. Sorry your ins does not cover it. I sure hope my new plan year will cover it better than my current one. God bless.

Wow! LVgirl, that was quick. So..can you give me some tips on things I can do right while I wait? I work at a primary care dr office so I know I can do some of it there. Or is it too far away from Sept? Thank you.

I don't think it can be more than 30 days out...but check with your surgeon.
