For a couple of weeks I was having discomfort (I can't really call it pain) at the port and band areas (Had the procedure last July) Now that has past, but I cannot seem to get full! I still feel some restriction, but I'm just Always starving!!! I am starting to gain weight, too!!! Help!!! Any ideas? Thanks so much!! Terri :faint:

Terri, you need to rule out slippage, erosion, or some type of port/tubing leak or disconnect. Your doc may start with a barium swallow, just know that an endoscopy is the only procedure that can tell you for sure if you are eroded. Some people have barium flow around the band on a baruim swallow, but just because it doesn't flow around, doesn't mean you aren't eroded. Call your doc, get some peace of mind, and find out where your restriction went!

Hopefully your port/band discomfort is just from something you did...exercise? who knows, but I'm glad it's gone. And hopefully all you need is another small fill. How's your weight loss? Are you exercising? Is your doc easy to get to? Call! Let us know.

I called my Dr. and can't get in until Feb 20! She said they would can if anyone cancels before that. I'll post what I find out, if anything, after the appointment. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers! Terri

I have found that I have port discomfort if I eat more than about 6/8 ounces of food at a meal. I think it is the weight of the food on the stoma, pushing the saline out of the band, back toward the port. Is the hunger, real hunger, or head hunger? We were both banded in July, and I find myself forgetting that I am banded, even though I have great restriction, and my band lets me know it is there. If you think it is something more serious, you really need to wait until you can see the doctor.
