I had my lap band surgery on April 27th weighing in at 230.9 pounds. I am blessed to have a sister who started this journey with me. We made a conscious decision that we wanted to get healthy and made an agreement that we would have the lap band surgery. We have gone to every appointment together from the initial visit to Dr. Paul Enochs of Bariatric Specialists in Apex, NC, to every appointment for medical approval, all the way to Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC to have our surgeries together. She is very dear to me and I am so blessed to have her in my life. I am married to my best friend and we have 2 daughters and 2 sons. I was an xray technologist for 26 years and loved every day of it. In 2003, I had some lumbar discs to rupture which led to having 4 back surgeries including a 2 level fusion. I am currently disabled from working. I am very involved in my church and am the choir director for the sanctuary choir. I am hoping that by having this surgery, my back pain will not be so intense, and life will get easier. I am very excited! As of today I weigh 219 pounds and am very happy with my weight loss.

Out side of salvation and family I can honestly say BEST GIFT EVER!! Sounds like you have everything going for you. I encourage you and your sister to post and ask your questions or concerns. Let those who have "gone before" encourage you. A supportive family is awesome and does so much good. Having others who have walked that path on your side is a huge thing. Even stuff the doc. can't tell you because he has not lived through it. You should be getting to soft mushy foods soon. That will be a great stage and will help you get to the solids soon enough. Hi! Thanks for the words of encouragement. As of today, my sister has lost 10 lbs. and I have lost 13 lbs. We talk everyday and compare how much we have eaten, how we feel, and make sure we have gotten our 30 minutes of walking squeezed into our routine each day. I am blessed to have her on this journey with me!
