Introduction

Hi! My name is Kim. I am a 30 something female with one adopted son and I am now a newlywed as of April 1. I have thought for some time about getting the Lap Band surgery as I have been overweight since I came out of my mothers womb, but wanted to give it one last ditch effort to "do it on my own." I did that and lost 100 pounds from 320 to 220... divorce and 3 years later Ive gained back about 40 of that and as I get older it sure seems more difficult to do this. The last year I have really considered having the surgery but it wasnt until I heard that Tricare Standard covers the cost, did I ever really think it could be a reality. SO as of this week I have decided to go for it. (a coworker got "banded" about a month ago and she is leaving me in her dust as we have been workout/diet buddies for the last year)

So where to start. Ive researched MD's in the area and In/Out of Network docs, etc and now ready for my first seminar and to get goin.. I'll take all the advice/help/warnings/encouragement ya wanna throw out there, so shoot. :)
