I had my lapband three days ago and I have the same thing. My left side hurts way worse then my right. Maybe its the way our bodies are made, they have to do a little more moving around on the left. I have more cuts on the left side two. Two on the left, one almost center below my boobs, and one to the right. And then my port was put it just above my belly button to the left. Im not worried about it, since I have more holes on that side I figure more "damage" was done to that side and it is needing the extra time to heal.

It's most likely from the hernia repair. The pain will go away.

I was told that the left side pain was largely due to the fact that this is where my port was sewn in. I had my first post-op appointment yesterday and the doctor pointed out exactly where my port was and it made since because that was where the majority of my existing pain was. If you're having pain all over your abdomen it could be from gas. I was told to use GasX to help, but it did nothing for me. Walking helped tremendously. They told me yesterday to go ahead and start using Milk of Magnesia to start getting myself "regular" again - and I'll tell you this much - it was like a miracle cure! I haven't had any gas pains since Wednesday (and that was bad) and I've been able to start eating more because the bloating feeling isn't there anymore.
