Physical activity following surgery

I've heard you should get up and start walking around to combat the gas, but what about climbing stairs?

Is it Ok to walk up stairs immediately after surgery? I only mean walking upstairs in a home-not a corporate building! Trying to figure out if I should sleep downstairs or not.

yes definitely ok it's really how you feel. I was walking the stairs in my house multiple times per day and even at work which are very long. I also walked 3x a day probably 1/4 to 1/2 mile per each time. This doesn't count the additional walking around the city, mall etc.....

I have stairs at home as well and I slept upstais and was up and down them tons. I guess its more if you feel well enough to go up and down them. Everyone feels different after surgery just listen to your body :) good luck
