    April sleevers weight loss

April 7 for me as well. Down 30lbs. Slow and steady.
  5. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and am not current "able" to eat out and nor am I missing it. I'm a band to sleeve revision so I'm pretty comfortable eating out. I've been eating low carb, high protein for awhile so it doesn't elicit attention during business lunches or dinner. Only a my husband, mom, kids and aunt knew about my band and the same remains true for this surgery. Occasionally, it is uncomfortable at on site corporate work celebrations, where you don't know what the menu will be and it's usually quite decadent. This is hard not because of my will but because the pressure! I don't give in but it's just tiring. (We have ALOT of corporate "celebrations) lol
  6. I'm 1 week out. Down 10lbs. Getting liquids in but still have nagging back pain (gas). Walking more and trying to stay moving without overdoing it. Quite lonely now because hubby is back to work. My biggest struggle I would say right now is the flood of emotions. I know it's due to the surgery but I am a click away from a 'cry' at any moment. I'll be glad when that passes.

    Clear liquids

Be careful! I purchased the new Swanson's infused broths and thought this would certainly break up the monotony of the liquid phase. Yesterday I finally was ready to try one-Thai finger. WOW it is not an essence of flavor, they are seasoned=spicy! At least for me! I suffered briefly with heartburn after that one sip. So back to basics for me. The infused broths will be great for cooking when I am beyond the phase!

    Any April Sleevers?

Post op Day 6 and it's my BIRTHDAY!! Steadily getting in my liquids. Mild nausea and gas pains but no show stoppers. I'm band to sleeve and can say I feel so much better this time around than when my band was installed in 2011. Taking it one day at a time and staying hopeful!!

    Any April Sleevers?

My surgery is today. Band to sleeve revision. Sitting in opt now...waiting. ????
  12. So I'm 11 days post op and yesterday I a different feeling. I went to work and boy I can admit I should probably still be out. I know some other have gone back to work after 4 days, but we are all different. In my case, my job requires alot of engagement. Talking, meetings, etc. Although I spend some time sitting, the rest is meetings, where I am presenting information. Long story short, I was not physically or mentally ready to go back to work this week. And to top if all off, yesterday I had the worse burning sensation in my stomach all day. I even had sugar free Popsicles to offset the discomfort. Should I be worried? I was taking Nexium for reflux prior to my surgery but was told not to take it anymore. Besides I am still on full liquids and doubt its anything I have "eaten" that has caused the discomfort. Silly as it may seem, I have never really experienced hunger pangs. So my husband thinks this is what it is! lol I seriously don't know. Are hunger pangs this burning sensation in your belly?Has anyone else experienced this?

    Can't Drink Water Without Belching!

Hi AmyH33, I have been experiencing this so much lately. I even tried sipping using a tbsp measuring spoon and it does not matter the amount, I still burp and then the all quick spasm. Has anyone figured out what causes this. I am not 'eating' because I am only 11 days post op and still on liquids, so I can't figure out what the deal is.
  14. Thanks! I am currently 2 weeks post op and progressing nicely!

  15. So I am on Day 6 post op and will return to work on this Thursday. I am a little nervous about what I should take to make it through this second week on liquids. My first week was Clear Liquids and starting today I can progress to full liquids. That is to include my Protein Shakes, strained pureed foods, Soups, etc. I need suggestions on how others have gotten through this. Interestingly, I am not suppose to lift more than 10 lbs and am also struggling with how I am going to carry my purse, laptop case and lunch without exceeding that amount. Funny huh?! I just need help!
  16. So tomorrows the day! Back to work! Took all the valuable advice. Check: Roller laptop bag with compartments Ziploc bags for my Protein Powder (Unjury) insulated bag by Rachael Ray (for Isopure bottles and water) costco I am going to attach insulated lunch bag to Samsonite rolling laptop bag! Voila! No lifting required... I'm all ready!!!! Well, at least as far as my nutrition and lifting requirement is concerned! Thanks so much for all of the help!! I love the community of fellow bandsters! I couldn't do this alone.
  17. I was so frantic the night before my surgery. I stuck to the pre Op diet as best I could. Had one day deal breaker when I hosted a Tupperware party at my home the weekend before my surgery.I cried and wanted my husband to talk me out of it! Guess what, I made it. 7 days post op as of today and getting stronger each day. It's really important you stick to the post op diet outlined by your surgeon/nutritionist. It's not easy but there is a lot of support out there. I'm finding it more and more. This forum also is so nurturing too! Don't sabotage yourself! Do this for you. It's a great gift to yourself! Stop beating yourself up too! I tend to do that and it's just self sabotage. Hold yourself accountable, but accept you're human! Good luck tomorrow! Let us know how you are doing.

Post Op Day 3-End of story-PERIOD!

I thought I'd be feeling so much better by now! I feel like a punching bag! I have been walking but suffer from nausea and dizziness. If the feeling of my internal organs falling out weren't enough, I get my period! Great! I am miserable in ways you could not imagine. Hoping the days to come are better!

We are into the last week of February...

Had a smooth surgery. Day 3 still recovering nicely. Sore, nauseous and experiencing the dreaded gas pains! The lortab further contributed to my queasiness! No worse for the wear, though. Getting stronger each day.
  22. My surgery was 02/22/11. I was scheduled to be there at 10am and surgery at 12noon. With LA traffic I arrived at 11am. After completing paperwork, I waited in a lobby. The lobby was full of people waiting to get adjustments. This was a great opportunity to ask questions. One lady was getting her first fill. Another wa in to get unrolled because she had been vomiting. Not to mention, she found out she was pregnant. Quite entertaining! At 1 pm or so, the nurse called me back. She had a condescending aura. She ticked me off with her tone. She wanted to debate with me about my aspirin allergy. Am I allergic or not? Finally she was over it and brought in the gowning. I changed and she got IV started. Surgeon came in to check on me. Then, anesthesiologist comes in. It's like a parade of doctors. I am escorted to the OR, where I am slowly put to sleep. Next thing I recall is waking up in recovery-freeing and in pain! The shivering makes the pain unbearable. They finally connect my gown to the heater. And I had to request something for pain. I start to feel better. Surgeon pops in several times to check on me. When I'm feeling better, I'm released to go. Currently, at day 3. Experiencing pain and nausea!

Who is being Banded this week?

I will be banded tomorrow. The time came so quickly! Good luck everyone!
  25. I've heard you should get up and start walking around to combat the gas, but what about climbing stairs? Is it Ok to walk up stairs immediately after surgery? I only mean walking upstairs in a home-not a corporate building! Trying to figure out if I should sleep downstairs or not.
