I didn't get an Upper GI after I had surgery. I am sure every doctor is different in regards to their testing, but I can't think of a reason why you would need to have one. I did have an x-ray though to show the position of the band - hope this helps!

    Thank you so much. I just completed my pre op testing and that upper GI was really nasty. I have a hard time drinking that thick

    I just did not want to do this again.
