Still having pain after 3 weeks

I had lapband surgery on Jan 11,2011 (lost 14 lbs so far) and am still having pain. The nurse told me it was the port area, where it attatches to a muscle. Not sure how people can go back to work after less than a week. Anyone else taking a longer time to heal?

Yes, I still had lots of discomfort or pain at 2 & 3 weeks out. I remember commenting to my husband that I had new empathy for people with chronic pain disorder. I spent a lot of time in bed or in the recliner, sitting upright hurt!

Hang in there, it will eventually get better. I have very little band related pain these days.

I'm almost 7 weeks post op and still have port site pain, it isn't bad or constant but i sure know it is there. I was back to work 2 weeks after surgery, could have gone back sooner but didn't get to see the dr for my release until 2 weeks. If your pain is still bad enough to keep you home, you may want to call your dr.
