Hi I'm on day 5 of pre op diet, iI had a nausea feeling for the first 2 days I didn't think I could handle the feeling. But now on day 5 it's much better.

I only get like 1-3 shakes (meal replacements) per day. The rest of my "meals" are like cottage cheese (fat free), ricotta cheese (fat free), yogurt (plain would not be sweet, if you wanted to try that - fat free) for my dairy, then its broth, chicnen, beef, vegetable whatever you like. I asked about the sodium, the Nut said not to worry as I wouldn't be getting sodium anywhere else so I'd be fine. I don't know if that helps or not!

My meals are much the same I do new direction meal replacements four times a day then a green salad and a protein like baked chicken or something lean. I hope it gets better its really messing with my stomach. The products are good just too much sweet as I've said... maybe it will get better its only day two so I will wait to start whining too much.

My pre-op is just 5 optifast shakes a day and auger free drinks like crystal lite. NOOO FOOD! My head hurt and fell a little dizzy. Nurse told me to drink more fluids. I don't wont anymore fluids my stomach empty. Who want to drink on a empty stomach. Sorry to vent........

I know exactly how you feel. those drinks make your stomach hurt if there is nothing on it. I keep reminding myself this is hard but its only for a short time and the benefit out ways the discomfort. Tried drinking one of my hot chocolate meal replacements tonight gagged for about thirty mins. thats the first one ive tried of these that I do not like. It would not dissolve no matter what I did. So I guess I will be a little bit more hungry since I am at work and can't get a different selection but I will survive...
