Concerns....???

I am not sure what is going on with my body and my band. I have 6ccs of saline in a VG band. I eat right, exercise and work 40 hours a week. I don't drink with my meals, wait atleast a half hour afterwords. I have some restriction, but not enough. I keep gaining weight, not alot, but too much in my opinion. My period has stopped. I had one like clock work since September of 2004. Now nothing. I took a home pregenancy test negative. (My period should have started around December 1st.) No cramping or anything out of the ordinary, I am puzzled. I know when I was a senior in hs I had to be put on provera (hormone replacement) to regulate my cycles. The doc said I didn't produce enough female hormones to keep my cycle in check. I wonder if there isn't enough of the pregnancy hormone in my system to show a positive pregnancy test. I am contacting my OBGYN on Monday to get a blood test. Anyone out there ever take a home pregnancy test and it be negative and then you were actually pregnant? Any ideas what else could be wrong? Thanks.

I am by no means a medical expert, but two of my friends were pregnant and their test did not pick it up. There may not be enough of the pregnancy hormone in your body to show on a home test. A blood test can give the actual amount of hormone in your body and how far along you are. Good luck.

I was always told that home tests CAN NOT show FALSE POSITIVES. But can show FALSE NEGATIVES. So if the test shows positive--- someone is for sure pregnant. But if the test shows negative--- you may or may not be pregnant. Best to have a blood test at the doctors. I hope your results are what you wish for:0)

Just an update: Aunt Flo finally came to see me New Year's Eve. Actually her visit wasn't as bad as I thought. Cramping was awful, but actually it wasn't all that bad. I am glad she showed up, it just isn't healthy to not have a period. Hubby and I still want children, but that is on the back burner until I loss more weight. Thanks again everyone for your support and kind words.:D
