I know this question will not pertain to most of you, but does any one out there have Blue Cross Blue Shield Empire insurace? I am just starting my journey. I have made an appt. with a dietician because the insurace nurse that is helping me told me I would need one. I can't call Empire and talk to them because I won't be switching to Empire until after Jan. 1st.

I guess I am just worried about how long the process will take. I guess if it takes 6+ months I will just have to wait. I have been obese most of my life anyway.

I just have blue cross/blue sheild. Not sure which one. But I have had good luck with them. First consult 10/6 and now approved for surgery 12/6. I hope yours goes smooth too!

I have BCBS of IL and by their policy the maximum wait for approval or other other way around is 30 days. And, you can appeal if they deny you. They must tell you why if they do deny you. I appealed and I won the second time around.
