New here

Hello, I have been lurking here for a few months now and decided to post something. Something about me....I have been overweight all my life and have decided to have the lapband surgery. I have completed all my pre op testing and my paper work is being submitted to the ins company as we speak. I have BCBS PPO State Employees, my dr office assures me that this process wont take too long....I hope now! Wish me luck!!

hi DeeDee, I'm new here also, this is my first post. Having surgery next monday the 15th. I'm kind of jumping into this head first, but willing to make that life changing decision.

I've been up and down my whole life, and a few years ago in 2005 I went on 6 wk makeover and lost 100 lbs in about a year. Kept it off for about 3 years and then allowed myself to slide back... but that was the first time I ever really felt thin.. (or almost thin)... I want that feeling back.. it was great...

tell me more about you... I'll watch for your post.

oxy...not really much more to tell. My story is very similar to yours. Back and forth with my weight until it gets to a point that I HAVE to do something. I was put on BP meds last year and after my physical in August, my doc said I needed to go on cholesterol meds. I think that was my breaking point. I'm 38 years old, and having to take meds for obesity related issues. I want to be around for my kids and increase my quality of life. I was a smoker for years...and I have been smoke free since 10/19. I'm serious about becoming healthier!!!

Good luck on your surgery 11/15!! Nervous?

What state are you in?
