Please help!!!! Need some meal ideas.

Hi All, I was banded on 09/30/10 and feeling like my progress is going no where. I just had my first fill on 11/01/10 which was 1cc and I still feel hungry. I have only lost 22 pounds since my pre surgery diet which started on 09/26/10. I need help!!!! I'm sure I'm not getting enough protein and I am getting bored with the same protein filled foods I have been eating. Any suggestions on meal ideas are appreciated and needed.

Hey there,

There's an amazing forum on here specifically for recipees. I look there when I've got no ideas for dinner:

Cooking, Baking and recipes - LAP-BAND

You can also look here for recipes that includes foods under 200 calories p/s

Diet Recipes Under 200 Calories

200 Calories or Less per Serving Recipes - Allrecipes.com

Good luck to you! Let me know if you find anything awesome :-)

I post recipes on a fairly regular basis on my blog. The link is in my signature if you want to check it out.

Also, your should check out BariatricEating.com - BE, Inc. The number one bariatric website for Protein, Vitamins, and success. There are great recipes on that sight. I use it regularly when I'm looking for a new dish to cook up.

You can also really use any recipe and just alter it to cut the calories. Many recipes call for WAY too much oil or butter and often it's really unnecessary to use any at all.

What kind of food do you like or what have you been eating that you're tired of? Also are you exercising?

You're losing an average of over 3 1/2 pounds per week. That is actually very fast progress, though I know it seems slow. My doc looks for 1-2 per week; anything more is a bonus.

I supplement Protein with Pure Protein chocolate shakes (which I get at Trader Joe's, health food stores, or online). They have 35 grams of protein each, only 170 calories, and are surprisingly tasty. I drink at least one a day, sometimes two.

Keep up the good work.
