Any Idea's???

Hi folks!!! Hope all is well. I have to go the dr today for my pre-op visit. I am trying to get together a list of questions to ask him. I have a few already. Like does he fill the band during the surgery or if it will be later. and How long will I be off work. I am stumped on other questions and was wondering if any of you have thought of any. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! :huh2:

How many band surgeries have you done?

I read a study on pubmed.gov website that complications with the band go down dramatically after a surgeon has done over 300 bands.

What size band will you use? What generation?

Some places have a stock pile of old style bands that they are trying to use up before they buy the newer ones.

Do you use the 2 step method to install it?

The 2 step method has been shown in a study to reduce the risk of slippage later.

I think poor band placement is the number one reason for people who do not have success with the band. Make sure your surgeon knows what he is doing. I would want someone who considers themselves a band specialist not just a surgeon who can do a band.

I go in for my appt today also. Thanks for some of the questions to ask. I'm so excited and very ready to start my new life.
