Doesn't cereal "break the rules"?

Cereal is bulky enough, it seems to me, that even the milk we eat with it is not going to wash it through. And since that's the only reason not to drink while eating it's just not an issue.

The only thing cereal does for me is make me hungrier. It is full of carbs and for me carbs just crave more carbs so I stay away from it all together otherwise I'm starving all day. I start my day woth strictly protein , it keeps my hunger at bay most of the day.

Just make sure you chose a whole grain cereal, like Cheerios, Kashi, oatmeal, or any of the Chex cereals or shredded wheat. They have a fair amount of fiber, some more than others and you can always unjury Protein powder to it to add more protein to it. Whole grains are okay in moderation, nutrionally they provide a good balance. Of course milk also adds protien, but try to use skim or at most 1%, try to stay away from the full fat version if possible.

When eating cereal I use a couple spoonfuls of light yogurt inplace of the milk and I can tell the difference in how fast it fills me up. I like it actaully better than I did with milk
