Last supper syndrome

Hi everyone. I'm new here. My surgery date is just less than a month away and I can't stop thinking about all the foods and amounts of foods that I will not be able to eat soon. Did anyone else go through the Last Supper Syndrome?

I certainly did! I tried to eat pretty healthy though. i found a low carb burger at a restaurant that was delicious as well as doing my protien shakes. I ate dinner with my friends and family when I could because they knew that there was going to be months before I could go eat dinner with them. When I had to do my diet it wasnt that hard. The last day before my surgery my patient advocate at the drs office said go eat whatever meal you would like to eat and dont worry about the calories or carbs. Of course we couldn't binge but we could have a bowl of pasta or bbq ribs. so we had a last supper before surgery LOL. It is a completely different change in eating habits afterwards as I am aware of my band still. I can feel the heaviness but have not had as bad a hunger pains as I thought. I thought I would be starving but Im not. Im just bombarded by ads on tv and computer about food. I didn't realize how much food is at the forefront until I couldn't have it! Of course I am on day 4 and trucking so its still an adjustment  :tongue2:Good luck to you!

I had the last supper syndrome before surgery. It seems kind of funny because I don't really miss what I can't have now. I can have mostly everything I want in mini amounts and that's OK. I wouldn't give up my band and go back to eating mindlessly without a fight.
