Finally decided to do it!

Hello all. I decided to make a change in my life and get the surgery after years of failed attempts at weight loss. I am not scheduled until January 10th, 2011. No way my work would give me a week off during the Holidays. But I am readying myself for this journey. I'm scared, I don't want to fail. Looking forward to following all your journeys and getting tips and encouragement along the way.

You WON'T fail! I thought all these same things. I'm 54 years old and have been overweight all my life. I started at 265, had surgery March 16, 2010 and lost 57 lbs. Yes you have to learn to eat better, but the band helps you do that. Just listen to your stomach and not your head or your eyes. When you feel full, STOP! You'll do fine. I was just as skeptical - and I did it! Good luck!

You are not alone. I have decided to go forward with Lap-Band surgery as well. I don't have a surgery date yet, but it's in the works. Good Luck on your Weightloss Journey...

Thank you all for the support. I met with the dietician and took my psych test last friday. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I meet with the shrink in a week to go over my test.
