Little Nervous

Well I'm on my pre-op liquid diet and I'm five days out from becoming a bandster. I guess I should consider myself lucky because my doc only placed me on a five day liquid diet. I'm excited about the surgery but Im still a bit nervous about the unknown. Was anyone else nervous. My surgery is scheduled for September 10, 2010.

I'm nervous and I'm at least a month away! :] Congrats on your upcoming date ... you're gonna be great.

Hi, I understand completely. I got banded 8/26/10 and I have had 2 prior knee replacement surgeries and I was WAY more nervous with this - something about them fiddling around my insides where my heart and all vital organs are located may have something to do with it... but, I did lots of research first, got my insurance ok, got referred by my doc to a local bariatric surgeon with years of experience doing only bariatric surgery, did the pre-op liquids, went to the information seminars, drove my friends and husband nuts with my anxiety, and went for it. I am in counseling now and this psychologist also markets cd's for pre-surgery relaxation; meditation/relaxation exercises are extremely helpful, which of course I didn't think of till afterward. Too scattered mentally. We have all been where you are. It's scary but worth it. Hope this helps, take care...
