I am scheduled for surgery on Sept 10 and have noticed a small infection on my little toe. I beleived I cut my toenail to short and I started soaking it in hot water. Did anyone have their surgery rescheduled to something like this? I see my Doctor next week and will let him know.

Keep soaking it several times a day and using a bandaid with antibiotic ointment. Try to see you doc early in the week, that way if it is infected you will be on antibiotics for long enough pre-op for it to probably be a non issue.

I had an ingrown toenail, and my PCP told me they would not do surgery if I had any cut or infection. Get it looked at just in case, at least by the nurse at your bariatric surgeon.

Well..if you are diabetic I would be very concerned. If not..all kidding aside..you put the botties on before surgery and they leave them on the whole time..no one may even ever look at your feet....I am not saying to ignore...but just don't stress tooo much....My mother in law had a bladder infection and was going for total hip replacement...with all Dr.s knowing they gave her antibiotics and operated 5 days later and she did just fine...good luck!!!

Saw the Dr. yesterday and he said no problem.
