Hi there everyone! My name is Karen, I'm 30 (closer to 31) and I'm just getting started with my lap-band® journey. A little about me, I have 3 children, 2 girls and a boy. Ages 5, 3 1/2 and 7 months. My husband is in the Navy and we are currently stationed in Rhode Island. I am going to a WLS seminar on Wednesday. The doctors require it before even calling for an appointment. I have no idea if I will even be seeing either of the doctors doing the seminar but I figured I'd go to it just in case so I don't have to wait for it to roll around in September as it's only given once a month and my appointment with my PCM is on the 26th of this month. I need a referral from her before I can make an appointment with a surgeon. So, I have to wait and see who my insurance covers here for WLS. And even if it's not one of the doctors giving the seminar, at least I get some info. lol! I look forward to getting to know you all and joining you all on this journey.

Hi Karen, welcome to the site. There is alot of information here that should help you every step of the way. I am scheduled for surgery on the 31st but I have been on here for a few months and I have learned alot that helped me make my finald decision to have the surgery. Take care, Wendy
