Is my 3rd fill too much??

I am a little over 2 months post op, and got my 3rd fill last week. I now have 6cc's in my 10cc band. Up untill my last fill I had no problems eating and was in bandster hell. I was really excited to get this fill, however I now feel it may be too much. I can barely eat at all. I am eating about 1 cup of food a day. I have not thrown up, but probably could have several times.

I am just concerned that this is not enough. Maybe I just need to get used to the idea that I will be eating much less. I am afraid to have some taken out and go back to no restriction, but don't want to leaveit in, if it's too much. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

You need to call your doctor if this does not improve within a few days, often after a fill, you are a bit swollen and after a week to 10 days the fill will back off a bit. You did not say if you are able to drink ok? If you can't get your liquid down, call the doctor asap. Normally they want you to eat somewhere between 1/2 cut and 3/4 cup per meal. Most bandsters have difficulty eating in the morning (I sure do) so they have protein shakes for breakfast then a meal for lunch and dinner. It also depends on what you are able to eat, are you able to eat normal food but just very small quantity?

I can drink just fine, and I have a protein shake every morning. I am eating about 1/4 to 1/2 c at lunch and dinner and that is it. I can only eat softer foods, and definatly nothing with starch. I guess from what you are saying though that is normal. I guess it is just scary to see how much I was eating before and how little I eat now.

I am very tight like you and keep thinking I need a little unfill but I am also afraid they will take out too much. Play it by ear and if you start barfing or losing wt faster than you want to then call for a small unfill.

Good luck,

Mimi

I would consider this pretty tight, but for me I'm like this for several days after a fill as I'm very sensitive to the swelling from a fill.

Once you lose a bit of weight it slowly loosens up a bit. So long as you are getting in all your Protein and not puking stuff up, you could hang in there for a few weeks doing what you are doing. Just be sure to take your Vitamins -- that is not enough food for good nutrition.

Take Care,
