I am just wondering.

I was banded on June 22, 2010 and today is the 27th and I have already lost 11 pounds. Is this normal in 5 days? It seems like a lot. I'm not complaining but just want to make sure I'm not hurting myself. I am on all liquids and am being very careful as to how much I drink.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's pretty common to drop quickly, particularly if you didn't have a pre-op diet. Don't get discouraged if the weight loss slows down when you move on to mushies.

I lost 23 lbs in the first week. Then, like the person above me said I went to mushies and everything slowed down. Dont worry I was told by my doctor its normal. =)

That is normal, as the previous poster said. It comes off pretty quick in the beginning. Just don't expect it to always be that way.

Drink everything you can to begin with. Getting dehydrated is easy and not good.
