Greetings All!

well....Im 48, 272lbs, 5'10"......probably won't make it to 70 yrs/old at this rate. So....Im sceduled to be banded late August 2010.

Just a quick question to those banded....if you could go back, to two months pre-op, anything you would do different, or do to prepare for surgery?

Thanks....can wait to be smaller!:(

While I can't answer any of your questions, since I'm still waiting on insurance approval, I wanted to tell you how much I like your handle. :(

Hello Ice,

I was banded at age 54, so you've got 6 years on me! Congratulations!

I think the best thing I did was find this website and read, read, read, and ask questions. Because of that, I don't think I could have been any more prepared, unless someone could have told me how not to be terrified of needles! :-)

Debbie

I was banded last Tuesday and I can tell you I spent a lot of time on this website researching questions I had about the band. It seemed like any question that I had, someone had already asked it some where on this board. And if they hadn't, I asked it and had multiple responses in no time. I also went to my doctors support group at the hospital and talked with people that had already been through it. They were very encouraging and actually contributed to my decision to use the doctor that I did.

I encourage you to be as active as you are comfortable being here on this board and keep us all updated on your progress. Good luck.
