OTC Cold or Allergy Medication

Do you know what you can take for OTC cold or allergy medication? How soon after surgery can you take a pill form? I had the lap band on 5/13.

i was told liquid form only- no pills. you can take the tylenol cold and allergy liquid meds. might ask the pharmacy what they have in liquids. i read (i think on here somewhere) someone talks the liquid gels.

I took pills immediately after surgery. In fact, my doctor prescribed them for pain. As you can see, doctors vary widely on their opinions. I've never had a problem with taking pills.

I take Zyrtek daily. I take the gel form--they are very small and easy to swallow.

I have been taking pills since the day of surgery. Like previous poster I was prescribed pain meds in pill form. I have no problems with them. I have 5cc in my band and took my vitamins today with no problem. Some docs do tell folks to avoid aspirin and NSAIDs like advil and alleve...
