I've heard that you cannot have red jello or beef broth before surgery from reading these forums.....why no red jello??? Does it dye your insides or something?? :-) I've also seen a few posts about beef broth....that's not good either? I'm on my two week pre-op diet and don't want to screw up anything!

no red jello as it can look like blood when they do the surgery i asked the nurse that question and thts why they told me

I was never told not to have either of these before surgery. It all depends on your doctor. Its best to follow his rules instead of going by what you read on here, everyone is different!

If your on clear liquids this might be a different story but I never had to go on clear liquids, just liquids and was able to eat both things.
