April 23rd-Does anyone else have that date?

Woo hoo! The final hurdle was cleared yesterday. I had my endoscopy and my surgeon said the golden words: "See you next Friday at 8 am for the surgery." Anyone who is on this journey with me will agree those are the best words ever! So, does anyone else share my surgery date? Or within a day or two? Would love to keep up with you to share ups and downs.

Thanks so much, I live approx 3 miles from Fantasy of Flight on Lake Juliana.

Hello All I too am being banded on the 23rd. I am so excited, Friday morning can not get here fast enough. I would love to keep in contact with those being banded around the same time. We can offer support and encouragement to be sure that we all Reach Our Goal

I am also having surgery on Friday - can't believe it is this close. All in all - it's only been 45 days between seminar and surgery.

I'm running through all the emotions right now - it's almost 3am and I can't sleep, which is not unusual for me. Mostly, I am excited to see if this tool can help me once and for all with my 20+ year struggle. I'll be glad to let something else dominate my life from now on.

Hugs to all - have a great surgery day!

Hi All

I am back home with my BAND and out of all Aneasthesia effect. There is a little pain but still bearable with pain killers. Hoping to hit the road to office on monday morning. They also removed a Hernia during the operation. Please let me know your experience.

. Hello Yatinthakkar! I had the exact thing done this morning as well! =) I don't feel much pain, just uncomfortable from the gas they pumped in and walking every hour as instructed to rid of it. I too will be back to my desk job on Monday, congrats!

Hello Friends,

I am inspired by your posts! I was banded yesterday and my experience wasn't quite as rosy. The anesthesia really made me sick and threw me in for a loop! I slept almost continually until 10 pm after an 8 am surgery! The good news is that I think I am over the hump. I don't feel nauseated anymore and I was able to eat and drink SMALL amounts!

I am suppose to report back to work on Tuesday morning. If I continue to improve, that's a reality, too. Let me know how your first day back is!

Smiles,

Tammy

Glad to hear you are doing okay. At least the stress of the unknown is over! Here's to shrinking!

Been home for 2 days and it's not that bad, but there is no way I want to be at work tomorrow. I have been approved for FMLA for 2 weeks although I think I'll go back after my post op appointment with my surgeon on Tuesday, May 4.

Everything went smoothly - op was scheduled for 11, but got underway around 11:30 as the previous case for my surgeon was complicated - he had told me in advance. Guess he knew I was a clock watcher!! ;-)

With me he also had to repair a "pretty good sized" hernia that I had no idea I had. Was heading home by 2:30 that afternoon.

Still a lot of shoulder pain - I'm guessing it's due to the hernia repair as all the gas must have dissipated by now.

I hope everyone is doing well. Here's to new beginnings!
