4 days out and no interest

OK, so I am 4 days out from surgery and I have no, NO interest in food.

I have to sit down and try to eat something. Yesterday it took me all day to eat one SF/FF yougurt and 1/4 cup purreed chx noodle Soup and 1/4 cup purreed lentil soup. I have been sipping on high Protein drinks and sipping as well.

So my question is, is this because of the swelling post op? When does this go away? Obviously I know I should eat at some point.

I am also having a sense of pressure in my upper stomach/esophagus which is not really pain but at times climbs to a intense pressure sensation. I am thinking it is because of needing to burp and can't. I am taking the anti-gas medicine like a trooper.

Any help is appreciated.

:)

Yes, it sounds as though you have post-op swelling. It will taper off over the next few days. If it concerns you, give your doctor a call.

food isn't of paramount importance right now. As long as you're getting enough Fluid, you'll be a-okay on that front.

I hope you feel better fast!

Hey Ruthie - I was banded on 1/27 and had the same experience. I wasn't hungry for at least the first week. I go through bouts of even now. Just make sure to get your fluids in and just be gentle with yourself - you're still healing. Good luck!

Ruthie, be gentle with yourself, and drink, you will be fine! Keep up the good work!

Water, Water, Water!! Just sip on Water!!! Hugs!!!
