Different doc, different liquid diet?

My surgeon's liquid diet includes:

- 3 protein shakes per day

- Any clear broth, sugar free pops throughout the day

- Up to 2 cups of either = Lowfat cottage cheese, Lowfat Yogurt, Fruit Juice, or up to 3 servings of regular jello, pops, or no sugar added fudgsicles

I have heard that other doctors add veggies and some other choices. I am 6 days into the liquid diet and STARVING! Has anyone else had a similar or completely different diet given to them?

My surgery is on APRIL 1ST and my Doc didnt even give me a diet, all he said, was if i lose weight it would be in my benefit and that was it. I am very confident, I am getting my banding done at OHSU so he is a professor and a Surgeon so I am sure he knows what he is doing and will take care of me, however I still want some type of diet, what should I do? :)

If you read through the thread and see what Betsy had to say, it makes sooo much sense. Sounds like whatever you choose ought to be high Protein, low carb, no sugar, and lots of Water. Well, similar to the post-diet, really. The more I've heard about other's pre-op's, the better I'm liking mine!
