5 days Post-Op - Does it get any better?

Okay, I am 5 days post op, and so far I've lost a good amount of weight...I'm not sure exactly how much because I'm still too fat for my scale at home to read me, but I can see a difference in how my clothes fit and so forth. The problem is that I am miserable. I've had my medication get stuck the past two days, even though I cut the pill into quarters, and I've been getting the worlds worse case of the hiccups, as weird as that sounds, but they are a bit painful... I have been given some hope however by some of the posts here that i will eventually be able to get down more than 2-3 oz of a Protein shake without gagging...

I guess my question is, when or does it get better? Or am I just going to have to learn to live with this from now on?

Hang in there! It gets a LOT better in a hurry! :frown: On the medications, is there any reason you can't crush the pills (I wrapped mine in paper, then smashed them with a hammer, stirred the powder into Water and drank it. .tasted gross, but did the job).

The pain should be getting better soon, and after you get to restriction and really see some good weight loss, I am confident that you are going to feel better than you have in YEARS. You are just in the hard part right now. It will get easier.

Keep us posted on how it goes! We are rooting for you! :frown:

Any day now you should be able to get down plenty of liquids. I just finished my 2 week liquid phase, and during the first 4 days, I just didn't want to drink... I think much of it was due to the swelling around my stomach.

By day 5 I felt MUCH better.... able to drink as much as I want. So hopefully that turning point will be right around the corner for you!!
