I read the article and couldn't determine which TYPE of Bariatric Surgery they were discussing.

I can totally understand that Gastric Bypass revision would be risky - or a revision from one type to another.

Have not heard or read of any negative statistics on LAP BAND revisions. Which type is this article discussing???

Interesting articles. I had revision surgery for a slipped lap band and had a new lap band placed 1 1/2 years ago. The new band slipped twice and I had my lap band removed totally a month ago. I'm sure that is a complication of revision surgery because my surgeon said that I had so much scar tissue from my previous surgeries that the scar tissue pushed my band up into my esophagus. Certainly this is a complication of revision surgery?

I am looking into a lap band revision, but was also given the option of Gastric Sleeve... Was wanting to get opinions on what people think of the sleeve compared to a band revision?

There is a little more risk intially to the sleeve, so you need to be careful in choosing your surgeon. Make sure that they have a lot of experience in doing the sleeve. If I had it all to do over I would get the sleeve. People that have it really like it. The restriction is perfect, there are no fills, no foriegn object in your body, and no malabsorption issues. There is a forum for the the Gastric Sleeve, google it and ask people there what they think. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
